Synthesis

  1. Place 400 mg of ammonium hexamolybdate/BCN (MoO3/BCN=2.3/1 (wt.)) granules into quartz beaker
  2. Place the beaker into center of quartz tube
  3. Place quartz tube into tube furnace so that the beaker is in the center of the furnace
  4. Place 2.5 g of sulphur into small quartz tube
  5. Place tube with sulphur inside tube with the beaker and locate it before the beginning of the tube furnace
  6. Wrap strip heater around the quartz tube on the side of sulphur
  7. Evacuate the tube and turn on 0.9 l/h Ar flow afterwards
  8. Heat the furnace to 700°C at 10°/min
  9. Heat strip heater to 230°C
  10. Keep for 30 min
  11. Turn off the strip heater and the furnace

XRD

Measure XRD pattern on Difrey 401 device in a 20-140° range using Cr Kα souce and 300 s exposition

FTIR

Measure FTIR spectrum on Vertex 70v spectrometer using ATR mode, 4 cm-1 resolution and 32 scans/spectrum.
